We are very pleased to announce that Stephen Galilee, the CEO of NSW Minerals Council, will open the Conference.
Stephen Galilee was appointed CEO of the NSW Minerals Council in January 2012.
Prior to joining the Minerals Council Stephen worked in senior roles in politics and government, including as an adviser to former Prime Minister John Howard and Chief of Staff to Mike Baird during his term as NSW Treasurer. Stephen has also worked in small business, family business, and as a consultant advising major corporations in construction, engineering and infrastructure.
Stephen has an Honours degree in Economics from Sydney University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is currently Chair of the Coal Services Health and Safety Research Trust, an Alternate Director for Mining Industry Superannuation Fund ‘Mine Super’, and also serves on the NSW Government’s 'Resources for Regions' Advisory Committee.

The NSW Minerals Council is the peak industry association representing the $24 billion mining industry in NSW.
Membership comprises over 100 producers, mine operators, explorers and associated mining services providers and includes all of the major mining companies operating in NSW. Many members also operate in other Australian states and globally.
